Oh right. Writing.

Wow. I had no intentions of abandoning everything blog-related this past week! There’s so much I have to write about, but so little time! Everything has been so hectic with the first week of our summer program at work, and I hardly had time to breathe, much less blog!

Everything seems to be leveling out, though, thankfully.

I’ve got conferences in D.C. this week, so there should be plenty of hotel downtime. I’m actually looking forward to the hotel gym – I’ve had NO strength training lately! There’s been plenty of cardio, though, in the form of football games, roller skating, and various other forms of kid-chasing. I’m LOVING the non-traditional workouts, although I have been slipping in yoga and a few jogs when I have the time (and energy!)

I’ve been playing around with my new Nikon ever since it arrived. It’s love. Seriously.

Several months ago when my computer crashed, a friend informed me that I needed to name it to avoid any further breakage. I dubbed my little Sony Vaio “Viola”, and she’s been a dream for me since. I feel like I need to carry on the naming of technology for good luck. Any ideas for the Nikon?

Speaking of things that arrived in the mail…

Helen at Cook, Bake, and Live hosted a wonderful relaxation-themed giveaway, and I was blown away by her thoughtful package from across the pond 🙂

All of the goodies were totally new experiences for me. Let me just say that if you haven’t already tried Galaxy chocolate, you are missing out. Bigtime. Unless, of course, you aren’t into smooth, creamy, melty, and incredibly rich chocolate. Hey, some folks are weird like that.

The 9Bars were total lifesavers for me this week. They were higher in calories than I’d expected from a nut-and-seed bar (each were easily 500!), but I was definitely in need of the sustenance from all the activity, and they were incredibly satisfying! Continuing in my bad food-blogger patterns, I scarfed them at work before taking any shots, but suffice it to say, they were incredible!

We all know I could sit here and blab on all night, but my suitcase currently contains my camera charger, one pair of yoga pants, and sneakers. I have a feeling I’m going to need to throw a bit more to make it through five days in DC!
